About Andrea

Andrea works within the field of aerospace engineering using her mediation skills on a daily basis. Her focus is cross-cultural negotiation particularly as the world sees an increase in "East meets West" partnerships. She received her M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University. She had the opportunity to work on Peacekeeping and Sanction issues at the Department of State by providing policy decisions to be represented by the U.S. at the UN Security Council. Andrea would like to take advantage of increasing corporate interest in developing regions as a tool to create peace mechanisms among civil society.

About Charmagne

Charmagne is currently transitioning from her current position at a DC-based non-profit focused on youth civic participation to a new position at the Minneapolis office of World Savvy. She has spent time in West Africa working on women's participation in peacebuilding and traveled to Uganda with a delegation of American and Ugandan youth to examine youth participation in conflict resolution and development. She has also worked to promote peace education for middle and high school youth in the DC area. She received her Master's degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University in May 2007 and her BA in Political Science and French from Grinnell College in 2003.

About Diana

Diana is the operations manager at a small non-profit that focuses on spreading the foreign policy debate beyond the beltway. She previously taught Ecology in Kazakhstan and traveled extensively throughout Central and East Asia. Her most recent experiences had her researching ways to update the Constitution of Bosnia-Herzegovina and writing resolutions condemning human rights abuses in Turkmenistan and Belarus. Diana is currently looking at creative ways to combine her love of the environment and her degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution.

About Jaime

Jaime is currently working as the state legislative manager at Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety while continuing her search for positions in youth leadership development and peacebuilding in the DC metro area. Her passion is for youth and conflict, and during graduate school she worked with Search for Common Ground on their youth programs in Africa. She received a masters in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University in August 2007, and a BA in Political Science at Longwood University in 2004.

About Jason

Jason currently works in the wonderful world of international education and exchange. He holds an M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University, with a focus in peacebuilding in Sub-Saharan Africa. His graduate field work involved working on a community reconciliation project for Liberian refugees at the Buduburam camp in Ghana. Jason received his bachelor's degree in history and political science from Guilford College.
